As one of the many panels at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the folks at Bandai Namco Games were on hand to discuss a few more details about the new upcoming installment of their popular Tekken franchise. The title was first revealed at Evo 2014 with a brief trailer, and today they pulled the curtain back a tiny bit to share information with fans.
According to Polygon, Tekken 7 will act as the end to the story’s Mishima saga, and will touch on topics like why Heihachi has been trying to kill his grandson Jin Kazama, who exactly Devil Jin is, and more. The studio is still working to develop the basic gameplay mechanics, and as such had no gameplay to show during the panel.
Furthermore, guest artists Mari Shimazaki (Bayonetta), Yusuke Yuzaki (Fire Emblem Awakening, No More Heroes), and more will be providing their talents during the character design process. Ninnin, who has worked on properties like Duel Masters and Cardfight!! Vanguard, will be personally redesigning Lars Alexandersson, the very first character to be confirmed as playable.
